I created a book cover series for the most famous works of Mikhail Bulgakov, one of my favorite Russian writers. As the focal visual component, I responded to the pivotal moment that drives the narrative of the books. Inspired by Bulgakov’s dark and satirical style, I used an ink wash technique to create a provocative illustration for each novel. The “Revolution Gothic” font added authenticity to the stark overall look of the design that reflects the essence of each story.
